Custom Safety Policies and Training Programs
OSHA 10hr / OSHA 30hr (Construction/General Industry)
OSHA-authorized outreach trainers will come to your facility or job site to conduct the Ten Hour OSHA
General Industry or Construction course for your group of employees. The OSHA ten hour course can
be conducted in one long day, or broken into parts on two consecutive days (your choice). We even
train on weekends! We can also customize the training specific to your industry.
After the class, attendees will receive a certificate of completion, plus the official wallet card issued by
OSHA, to certify they successfully completed the course.
FORKLIFT DRIVER CERTIFICATION
The Forklift Certification training program is a proven method of providing your company with the
means to meet the OSHA requirements for the certification of "qualified" forklift operators. This
program has been successfully used by hundreds of companies to certify their employee's abilities and
skills in the safe handling of forklifts.
All operators of forklifts, and other motorized lifts or pallet jack operators must be formally trained in
safe operating practices and should be certified as trained. The following outline covers the program's
contents: overview of program; review of safe operation of fork lifts; safety film; review of operating
rules; review of fork lift operator's checklist; written test; and demonstration and road test. All Forklift
operators that pass the hands-on portion will be given operators permits valid for 3 years.
FIRST AID & C.P.R.
OSHA requires every company more than 3 minutes away from an emergency medical facility to have
sufficient personnel trained and certified in First Aid and C.P.R. on each shift. This class is taught to the
American Red Cross Standards with a video presentations, skills testing, and hands-on exercises
using applicable equipment. A.E.D training available for companies wishing to add these life saving
devices. American Red Cross 1st Aid & CPR Cards issued.
BLOOD BORNE PATHOGENS
OSHA requires that those employees assigned to be emergency responders (First Aid and C.P.R.) and
those who work in the health care industry be trained to deal with the potential exposure to Blood borne
Pathogens and body fluids. In addition, an employer is required to have a written exposure control
program. This training provides employees the required information and importance of using universal
precautions and the use of personal protective equipment.
This program can be tailored to any employee exposure group including: health care workers;
emergency responders; and industry workers. The program is designed to meet the requirements of
the OSHA regulations and their written Exposure Control requirements. Human bodily fluid clean-up kit
provided.
EMERGENCY ACTION & EVACUATION
This training is designed to assist you in meeting the OSHA requirements for training and preparation
for emergency response. The program will be tailored to meet the client's needs with regard to size,
location of facilities, and operations.
OSHA requires that the Emergency Evacuation Program be put in writing and that all employees be
trained in emergency procedures. In addition a mock drill must be held at least once per year. This
training will assist your company to develop an emergency response team familiar with your
emergency procedures and equipment. The training includes the proper response to alarm devices to
assist in the alerting of all workers at each facility as required by OSHA.
HAZARD COMMUNICATION (CHEMICAL EXPOSURE, HANDLING, M.S.D.S.)
All employees who may be exposed to or handle almost any type of chemical products must be trained
in the Haz Com program including: how to read and understanding the information in a MSDS, proper
chemical labeling, proper use of chemicals, the adverse physical and health affects of the chemicals,
and the program itself.
This educational program has several component parts, each of which builds upon the one preceding:
Video Tape, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) Exercise, Discussion, and quiz. All will provide
compliance with the OSHA requirements for training in the Hazard Communication (Haz Com)
regulations.
The program and format are geared to employees who do not have a solid working knowledge of
Material Safety Data Sheets. Thus, we will first provide an interesting overview of the subject and
related terms. This is done in the first phase when we present the generic Material Safety Data Sheet
audio/visual presentation. Having set the tone, we follow with a detailed discussion of more specific
information of how to read a MSDS sheets related to your facility. MSDS Binder and MSDS station
provided.
LOCKOUT/TAGOUT
OSHA requires that all supervisors and employee personnel who maintain, operate, or do repairs on
machines, equipment or other devices that may cause injury from the various types of energy sources,
must be trained in Lockout/Tagout procedures and the proper use of Lockout equipment. Another
requirement is that the program, Lockout/Tagout, be put in writing, a service that we can provide.
The lockout/tagout safety training program is a proven method of providing your company's compliance
with the OSHA regulations for lockout/tagout safety. This program is designed to train employees on the
safe methods in the handling and maintaining of energized systems. This program has been
successfully used by hundreds of companies to train and certify their employees' abilities and skills in
the handling energized systems safely. The program includes a lecture and discussion, safety video,
review of lockout/tagout policies and procedures, review of program. Lock-out / Tag-out kit provided.
BACK INJURY PREVENTION
This program has been developed to provide you with the information needed to help prevent the
possibility of employee back injuries. The program has been designed to meet requirements of OSHA
as well as reinforce company policy on the prevention of back injuries. (OSHA feels that all employees
are potentially exposed to a back injury, thus it is one of the required trainings for all employees.)
In today's work environment, back injuries account for nearly 20% of all injuries. But the cost of these
injuries accounts for nearly 60% of all Workers Compensation insurance costs. These costs are paid by
your employer in the charges for their Workers Compensation Insurance cost.
A formal back injury prevention program should be established with all supervisors and employees
being trained in proper lifting techniques. As the key to the success of this program is to train the
employee to the job specific tasks, our services can be tailored to meet this objective.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL HANDLING
This is specialized training which must be specifically designed to a companies needs based on factors
such as; volume, type of frequency of material handled, product labeling, etc. Per the DOT requirements
for the handling of hazardous materials.
H2S SAFETY TRAINING & CHEMICAL TRAINING
This specialty training program covers the necessary information needed to work in hazardous
exposures that may contain H2S. The information is part of the Process Safety Management Training
program that is necessary for refinery and chemical plant safety program operations.
The following outline covers the program's contents: overview of H2S hazards and exposures; review
of safe working requirements by OSHA; review of safety film on H2S exposure; review of safety rules;
and written test.
We have other program for various other chemical exposures including Benzene, Hydrofluoric Acid,
and other refinery type chemicals.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION TRAINING
In this program we will provide the necessary training for employees who use respiratory protection to
meet the requirements of the OSHA regulations. The training includes: a review of the OSHA
requirements for respiratory protection; the proper use, selection and maintenance of respiratory
equipment; and respiratory fit testing which includes qualitative fit testing. Also included are the key
elements of hazard identification and recognition of chemicals per the MSDS that require respiratory
protection.
OSHA also requires the employer to implement a written respiratory protection program if any
respiratory equipment is used. OSHA Respiratory questionnaires will be handed out and upon
certification from the companies occupational health clinic our staff will return and conduct fit testing.
HEARING CONSERVATION TRAINING
This training program will provide employees with an understanding of the need for the use of hearing
protection equipment and the meaning of the Hearing Conservation Program. It will also train them in
the proper use of hearing protective devices. The program will explain why hearing conservation is
required by OSHA, and what the requirements are for maintaining compliance with applicable
standards including: making a sound level survey, audiometric testing, record keeping, and the
selection and use of hearing protectors. 250 pair foam ear plugs provided.
FALL PROTECTION
This new OSHA requirement deals with hazards encountered by workers who perform functions at
least 6' feet off the ground. This course will provide useful information pertaining to the use of
guardrails, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems and other safety regulations to prevent
serious injury due to dangerous falls. Hands-on equipment inspection and use provided.
VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE
This course is designed to provide awareness on how to prevent and minimize the potential of violence
in the workplace. Management will be taught to serve as a liaison to specialized resources from the
community, be responsible for the education of supervisors and managers regarding workplace
violence policies and procedures. This includes dealing with the three (3) types of violence or assaultive
behavior, and the implementation of corrective measures to assure workplace security.
GAS CYLINDERS/COMPRESSED GASES
Under Title 8, Section 3301, all personnel authorized to work with flammable gases must be familiar
with the hazards and emergency measures that might be required in the event of an accident. This
program deals with the safe operating guidelines that cover the policy, procedures and safety rules for
employee handling of Gas Cylinders and Compressed Gases.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
This program is designed to assist employers in meeting the OSHA requirements for the selection, use
and maintenance of personal protective equipment. Employees will be trained in the requirements for
the proper use and the selection of personal protective equipment, such as for eyes, face, head, hands,
feet, clothing, and respiratory devices in their jobs. The use of MSDS as part of the selection process is
also discussed.
CONFINED SPACE ENTRY
This program has various levels of training to cover the confined space entry requirements mandated
by OSHA. The program applies to employees who work in permit required or non-permit spaces such
as tanks, cellars, attics, air ducts, underground vaults etc..
The training includes the need for: respiratory devices, communication equipment, safety watch
personnel and other affected employees, air monitoring requirements, rescue procedures, etc. are also
covered.
FOOD SERVICE SAFETY
This training is designed for employees and employers in the restaurant and food service industry. This
course covers the safety regulations established for the food service industry as OSHA has identified
the industry as one that it should focus its attention due to the high accident rate. Subjects covered
include knife safety, mixing machines, slicer's, burn protection, microwave oven safety, fire protection
etc.
